Model Maker I

Talascend is currently seeking a Model Maker I for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan . Overview The Model Maker I will work with various composite and 3D printed materials and maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. The Model Maker I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. Responsibilities Surface parts and fit components for assemblies. Develop composite tooling and molds. Create foam plank build-ups. Laminate with epoxy resins and carbon composites. Participate in vac-form disciplines. Operate shop equipment, including hand tools, and perform preventive maintenance. Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ previous experience required. Preferred: Certificate in Autobody, Automotive Technology or related. Requirements Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Has own tools with toolbox. Ability to read, comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions. Preferred Requirements Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.
