- High School Diploma or equivilent
- Certified Medical Assistant or ability to become certified within 3 months of employment
- 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant
- Greets patients in a warm and welcoming environment and answers telephones.
- Updates and files patient medical records.
- Collects patient medical histories and records vital signs.
- Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed.
- Gathers and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises.
- Disposes contaminated supplies.
- Instructs patients about medication and special diets, and orders/obtains injectable medications from the onsite pharmacy as directed by a physician.
