Licensed Psychiatric Technician

The Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) is a licensed clinical team member responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with acute psychiatric and behavioral health conditions. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse the LPT plays a critical role in maintaining a safe therapeutic and recovery-oriented environment. This role is essential to patient safety behavioral stabilization and milieu management supporting patients through crisis treatment and recovery while ensuring compliance with all regulatory legal and organizational standards. The LPT functions as a frontline behavioral health clinician actively participating in the interdisciplinary team to promote positive patient outcomes.

Experience/Training: Preferred 2 years experience in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health setting Experience with high-acuity patients (e.g. involuntary holds co-occurring disorders)

Licenses/Certifications: Required Current active Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association preferred) CPI or equivalent Crisis Prevention/De-escalation training

Skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with difficult situations. Strong empathy skills with a commitment to help people with different mental health diagnosis. Excellent intrapersonal skills communication skills and listening skills. A strong knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of psychotherapy. Strong knowledge of the role of counseling and treatment of the client.

Department: Psychiatric - ICU Shift Duration: 12 Primary Shift: Nights Time Type: Full time Location: 100 W California Blvd Pasadena CA 91105 Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is 26.85 - 40.94. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials extra shift incentives bonuses etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions. Our compensation reflects the following premium structure for every shift: - Base rate paid for the first 8 hours of work in a day - 1.5x overtime pay for hours 8-12 worked in a workday. - 2x double-time pay for any hours beyond 12 in a workday. This ensures that employees are fairly compensated for the full length of their shift with enhanced pay as their workday progresses. The estimated blended hourly rate accounting for these premiums on a 12-hour shift ranges from 31.33 to 47.76.
