Role Overview
The Applications Development Analyst is a senior Salesforce professional responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting enterprise Salesforce solutions. This role works closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce applications. The position provides technical leadership across Salesforce development, integration, automation, security, testing, deployment, and knowledge transfer activities while ensuring adherence to best practices and enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Development & Customization

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Salesforce applications and enhancements
• Develop Apex classes, triggers, service classes, batch Apex, queueable Apex, and scheduled jobs
• Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Visualforce pages
• Customize Salesforce functionality to support evolving business requirements
• Optimize Salesforce performance and scalability through best-practice development techniques

Salesforce Administration & Automation

• Configure Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, and business processes
• Design and implement workflow automation using Salesforce Flow and other declarative tools
• Streamline business operations through automated processes and system enhancements
• Support configuration management across development, testing, and production environments

Integration & API Development

• Design, develop, and support integrations between Salesforce and external systems
• Build and maintain REST and SOAP API integrations
• Configure data exchange processes and interface solutions
• Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize data synchronization processes

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Implement and maintain Salesforce security models, including profiles, permission sets, and role hierarchies
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and Salesforce best practices
• Review and optimize access controls and data-sharing configurations
• Support governance initiatives related to Salesforce development and deployment

Requirements Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions to gather business and technical requirements
• Evaluate existing Salesforce configurations, codebases, and integrations
• Translate business needs into technical designs and implementation plans
• Provide recommendations for system enhancements and process improvements

Testing, Release Management & Production Support

• Develop and execute unit testing and integration testing activities
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect resolution processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and application defects
• Deploy changes following established change management and release management procedures
• Support production deployments and post-deployment validation activities

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Create and maintain technical documentation for customizations, integrations, and development standards
• Document solution designs, system configurations, and deployment procedures
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal technical teams and stakeholders
• Ensure long-term maintainability and supportability of implemented solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Salesforce Administrator Certification
• Salesforce Platform Developer Certification
• Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification
• 10+ years of Salesforce platform design and development experience
• Extensive experience with Apex programming and object-oriented design principles
• Strong experience developing:

• Advanced knowledge of Salesforce governor limits and optimization techniques
• Strong expertise with SOQL and SOSL query development and optimization

• Experience with Salesforce Flow and declarative process automation
• Experience working in technical leadership or lead developer roles
• Experience supporting large-scale, complex Salesforce implementations
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with Salesforce production deployments and troubleshooting deployment issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a Salesforce Technical Lead or Solution Architect
• Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications and third-party platforms
