Chief Information Officer

Position Summary

TeraWulf is seeking a commercially minded, technically sophisticated Chief Information Officer to lead the enterprise technology, data, and digital operating platform that enables the company to build, operate, and scale mission-critical AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. Reporting to the CTO & Co-Founder, the CIO will be responsible for establishing and executing TeraWulf's enterprise technology strategy across enterprise systems, infrastructure, data, analytics, automation, AI-enabled capabilities and technology operations.

The CIO will build the systems, governance, operating model, and organizational capabilities required to support a rapidly expanding portfolio of AI and HPC data center campuses. The CIO will establish scalable technology standards and repeatable deployment models across current and future sites, modernize enterprise platforms, strengthen operational resilience, and partner closely with the Chief Informational Security Officer (CISO) to maintain a secure and resilient technology environment.

The successful candidate will bring executive leadership experience within hyperscale, colocation, digital infrastructure, AI/HPC, utilities, or other mission-critical technology environments, along with a proven ability to build high-performing organizations and use technology to improve scalability, reliability, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Governance
• Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise technology strategy aligned with corporate growth, campus expansion, customer requirements, and capital priorities.
• Define enterprise architecture, technology standards, governance frameworks, and integration strategies across infrastructure, applications, cloud services, collaboration platforms, and data ecosystems.
• Advise executive leadership on technology investments, operational resilience, transformation initiatives, and emerging technologies.
• Establish technology portfolio management processes that prioritize business outcomes, scalability, and investment transparency.

Data Center Technology, Infrastructure & Operations
• Own the enterprise technology strategy supporting a geographically distributed portfolio of mission-critical data center campuses.
• Partner across Development, Construction, Operations, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Security, and Commercial teams to establish technology standards and repeatable deployment models.
• Establish architecture, connectivity, infrastructure, and technology standards for operational technology environments in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and the CISO.
• Ensure technology requirements are embedded throughout campus design, construction, commissioning, operational readiness, customer onboarding, and campus expansion initiatives.
• Ensure reliable delivery of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks, end-user technologies, service management, and 24x7 operational support.

Cybersecurity, Resilience & Risk
• Partner closely with the CISO and Cybersecurity organization to maintain a secure, resilient, and well-governed technology environment.
• Own implementation and remediation of technology controls within the CIO organization, including identity, network architecture, endpoint management, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Ensure technology environments meet established cybersecurity policies, standards, and control requirements.
• Partner with Cybersecurity on incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, vulnerability remediation, and third-party technology risk.
• Support readiness for audit, customer, and compliance frameworks including SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST-based practices.

Applications, Data, Analytics & AI
• Lead modernization and integration of ERP, financial systems, procurement platforms, workforce systems, project delivery tools, and enterprise applications.
• Develop and execute TeraWulf's enterprise data strategy, including governance, reporting, quality, architecture, and secure access.
• Create a unified operating view across the company's portfolio through integrated reporting, monitoring, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Build scalable data, automation, and AI capabilities that improve operational performance, infrastructure reliability, customer reporting, and executive decision-making.

Organization, Financial & Vendor Leadership
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technology organization focused on accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Establish clear organizational roles, operating processes, service levels, and performance standards across the technology function.
• Own the enterprise technology budget, workforce plan, and investment roadmap.
• Lead strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, and governance of external technology partners.
• Communicate technology strategy, operational resilience, investment priorities and technology risk to executive leadership, the Board, customers, and auditors, as appropriate.

Required Qualifications
• 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including executive responsibility for enterprise technology strategy and operations.
• Experience within hyperscale, colocation, AI infrastructure, HPC, data center, or other mission-critical environments.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology transformation across multiple sites or business units.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, operational resilience, cybersecurity, governance, and technology operations.
• Experience partnering effectively with cybersecurity, engineering, operations, finance, development, and commercial organizations.
• Experience operating within a public company, highly regulated environment, or similarly complex enterprise.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with sophisticated customers and translate technical requirements into scalable operating solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
