Position: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

Shift: Days with On-Call Rotation

Location: Madison, WI

Call Frequency: On call one night per week and one weekend per month.

Job Description

The RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab will utilize nursing processes and critical thinking to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in providing exceptional care to patients. This role requires a commitment to excellence in patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in accordance with physician directives and hospital policies.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments adhering to established standards of care and state laws.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation as per organizational guidelines.
Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and support their health literacy.
Engage in department performance improvement activities and support peer review initiatives.
Utilize clinical expertise to support other units or departments in the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
Address and resolve system breakdowns, driving engagement for solution development with healthcare teams.
Demonstrate critical thinking in patient safety and experience, effectively managing complex patient situations.
Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities within the nursing field.
Ensure timely patient flow, address patient inquiries, and perform telephone triage as needed.

Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Education Verification Required).
Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, including 1 year in a critical care setting.
Experience in cardiovascular interventions is required.
Current RN licensure in Wisconsin or Compact state.
Current BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Ability to successfully pass an EKG test.
