Material Handler -Urgent Need

Position: Material Handler – Urgent Need Location: Redlands, CA Duration: 12 Months Contract Total Hours per week: 40 Shift: 2nd Shift Must have forklift and pallet jack capability. Description Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office or warehouse. May maintain records. Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision. High school diploma or equivalent required. Qualifications & Skills Zero to one year of warehouse experience or related experience and/or training. Mainly manual labor – unloading trucks and stacking pallets – under 25 lbs (some weigh less than 5 lbs). Must be able to verify labels on boxes and match to pallets. Attention to detail is essential; scanning experience needed. Stand‑up forklift experience required. Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses, training or certifications, as needed. Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production). Effective communication skills at a level co‑workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand. Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations. Ability to perform/operate in a metrics‑driven environment. The job can require lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs. The position will have exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions and vibration. Occasionally the position will have exposure to work in high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles. It is hot in the summer months (no AC) and cold in the winter months (limited heating).
