Oscar Mendez MD PA is seeking a full-time Licensed Optician to join our eye care team in Lauderhill, FL. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping patients look and see their best.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and fill eyeglass prescriptions written by optometrists
- Help patients select frames and lenses that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Take accurate measurements (PD, segment height, vertex, etc.)
- Fit, adjust, and repair eyeglasses
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear care
- Verify and dispense finished eyewear and ensure proper fit
- Manage frame inventory, orders, and lab communication
- Maintain accurate patient records and process insurance where applicable
Requirements:
- Active Florida Optician license (required)
- ABO certification preferred
- Prior experience in an optical or ophthalmology/optometry practice preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
