About the Role:

The Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in the supply chain by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. This position is responsible for verifying the quantity and quality of goods received against purchase orders and shipping documents to maintain inventory accuracy. The Receiving Specialist collaborates closely with warehouse, procurement, and quality control teams to resolve discrepancies and facilitate smooth inventory flow. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and maintain operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's ability to meet customer demands by ensuring timely and accurate receipt of materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with barcode scanning and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal teams.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
• Accurately document received items in inventory management systems and update records accordingly.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of received materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area while adhering to safety and compliance standards.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as needed to support inventory accuracy.
