Scrum Master

Role Description

Capio Group is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to provide services to implement a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) licensing and compliance platform that consolidates multiple legacy systems into a unified enterprise solution. Responsibilities include:

• Project planning and governance
• Requirements elicitation and user story development
• Solution design
• Systems integration
• API and interface development
• Data conversion and migration
• Configuration management
• Testing support
• Sprint execution
• Training and knowledge transfer
• Production deployment
• Post-implementation support

The project will be delivered using Agile Scrum methodologies through a phased implementation approach, requiring:

• Successful configuration, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of a secure, FedRAMP-compliant cloud solution
• Support for licensing, compliance, enforcement, case management, document management, reporting, payment processing, and integration with internal and external systems
• Ongoing maintenance and operations, service desk support, system enhancements, regulatory updates, security compliance, performance monitoring, and operational support

The Scrum Master will support various objectives, which may include:

• Facilitating Agile delivery processes and supporting successful execution of project activities using Agile methodologies
• Facilitating all Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement sessions, sprint reviews, retrospectives, release planning sessions, and team planning meetings
• Collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to maintain prioritized product backlogs
• Supporting development teams in understanding business priorities, sprint objectives, and release goals
• Tracking sprint velocity, burn-down metrics, capacity planning, and delivery performance
• Identifying, documenting, and removing impediments affecting team productivity
• Facilitating cross-team coordination and dependency management activities
• Promoting Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring user stories meet acceptance criteria and are appropriately refined prior to sprint execution
• Assisting teams in estimating effort, managing sprint commitments, and maintaining delivery predictability
• Coordinating stakeholder demonstrations, sprint showcases, and feedback sessions
• Supporting release planning and deployment readiness activities
• Monitoring Agile performance metrics and recommending process improvements
• Facilitating resolution of delivery conflicts, competing priorities, and resource constraints
• Fostering a collaborative, transparent, self-organizing team environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management or Computer Science
• If the degree is not in English, it must be accompanied by an evaluation performed by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
• Degree is required and cannot be substituted with experience

Requirements

• Four (4) years of experience as a Scrum Master on a large-scale complex IT project within the last eight (8) years
• Two (2) years of experience maintaining sprint velocity, goals, and ensuring a collaborative, self-organizing environment within the last eight (8) years
• Two (2) years of experience partnering with Product Owners and managing backlogs, stakeholder expectations, and delivering increments within the last eight (8) years
• Ability to provide a client/user end reference contact information for each applicable project meeting the requirements upon request

Desirable Experience

• One (1) to three (3) years of experience as the Scrum Master implementing or maintaining a Cannabis Licensing and Compliance system for a government agency within the last eight (8) years
• Possession of Scrum Master Certificate
