About the Role

As a Property Accountant, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial performance of our commercial real estate portfolio. You'll partner closely with Property Managers and other internal teams to prepare financial reports, analyze operating results, assist with budgeting, and ensure accurate tenant billings and reconciliations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, analyzing financial data, and contributing to the success of a growing real estate organization.

What You'll Do

• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties and ownership groups.
• Analyze financial results and research budget-to-actual variances.
• Assist in preparing annual operating budgets and forecasting expenses.
• Prepare annual tenant CAM and operating expense reconciliations and respond to tenant questions.
• Review tenant billings and ensure direct charges are accurate and timely.
• Maintain the integrity of accounting and invoicing systems, including contract and billing information.
• Partner with Property Managers to answer accounting questions and provide financial guidance.
• Review account activity and prepare account reclassifications as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support the financial success of one of the Midwest's leading commercial real estate portfolios.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new accounting software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, customer-service mindset.
