Financial Crimes Analyst - Hybrid

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Financial Crimes Analyst to support a special project focused on fraud detection, transaction monitoring, AML compliance, and customer risk review. This role will be responsible for reviewing potentially suspicious activity, investigating fraud alerts, performing KYC and due diligence activities, and helping ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulatory requirements and internal financial crimes policies. This is a HYBRID role. The ideal candidate will have experience in fraud operations, AML investigations, KYC/CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity review within a banking or financial services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview fraud, AML, and transaction monitoring alerts to identify unusual or suspicious activity.Investigate flagged transactions, account activity, and customer behavior for potential fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes concerns.Conduct KYC, CIP, CDD, and EDD reviews for new and existing customers.Analyze customer profiles, account history, transactional activity, and external research to assess risk.Escalate potentially suspicious activity for case development and SAR consideration, as appropriate.Support BSA/AML compliance efforts by adhering to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and project guidelines.Perform sanctions and watchlist screening reviews, including OFAC-related alert handling where applicable.Document investigations thoroughly and maintain accurate case notes in accordance with audit and regulatory standards.Partner with compliance, fraud, operations, and risk teams to support issue resolution and case disposition.Assist with quality control, remediation, backlog clearance, and project-based review work as needed.Identify patterns, trends, and emerging fraud risks and escalate findings to leadership.Ensure work is completed within required service-level expectations and productivity metrics.
