Position Overview

Emergency Medicine physician coverage in a Level II trauma center

Annual ED volume: 30,000

Hospital beds: 484

Coverage model: 24 hours physician coverage plus 30 hours NP or PA coverage

EMR: Cerner

Required Qualifications

MD or DO

Residency trained in the specialty

Board certification accepted: ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or osteopathic equivalents

Active Iowa medical license in hand. IMLC not accepted.

Iowa controlled substance registration

DEA with Iowa address

Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS

CME for the past 2 years

Case logs for the past 2 years

Credentialing and Onboarding

In person EMR training prior to first shift

Immunization documentation required including TB, flu, Hep B, MMR, and varicella
