- Lead, coach, and develop associate veterinarians across assigned hospitals to deliver consistent, high-quality care
- Serve as a working manager with scheduled clinical hours, modeling excellent medicine and client service
- Partner with hospital leadership to drive culture, engagement, and performance aligned to clinical and operational goals
- Validate and elevate medical quality through case reviews, medical record audits, and patient-safety initiatives
- Guide new-doctor onboarding and coaching to build clinical, surgical, and dental proficiency
- Champion preventive care, client education, and a seamless team workflow
- Collaborate on recruiting efforts, host student externs, and represent the hospitals within the local veterinary community
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including controlled substance management and radiation safety
- Support equipment stewardship and requests; help prioritize medical resource needs
- Address escalated client concerns with empathy and professionalism
This is a full-time, hospital-based position. Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active North Carolina veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- DEA registration (or eligibility) and experience with controlled substance compliance
- Proven clinical proficiency in general practice, dentistry, and routine soft-tissue surgery
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire veterinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; comfort with a fast-paced, multi-site environment
