Class A Fitter Welder (ASME Pressure Vessel / Boiler Fabrication) Pay: $34$36/hour DOE Schedule: MondayThursday | 6:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. (OT Friday & Saturday 6:00 a.m. 2:15 p.m. as needed) Job Type: Full-Time Location: Tulsa, OK Class A Fitter Welder (ASME Pressure Vessel / Boiler Fabrication) Must-Have Requirements 5+ years of fitter/welder experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to pass weld tests: 6" Sch 80 6G GTAW (TIG) root/hot pass + SMAW fill/cap 3G FCAW 1/2" plate Fitter test Experience with GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), and FCAW (Flux Core) Ability to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding procedures Experience fitting, laying out, and assembling pressure and non-pressure components Ability to pass X-ray and other non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements Proficient with carbon arc gouging and cutting torch Strong math skills for layout and fabrication work Class A Fitter Welder (ASME Pressure Vessel / Boiler Fabrication) Position Summary Perform high-level fitting and welding on ASME code pressure vessels and boiler components Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless, chrome, and nickel alloys Ensure all fabrication meets strict ASME, company, and customer quality standards Support production of waste heat recovery equipment in a heavy fabrication environment Class A Fitter Welder (ASME Pressure Vessel / Boiler Fabrication) Essential Duties & Responsibilities Layout, cut, fit, and tack pressure and structural components Fabricate components including cylinders, nozzles, tubes, tubesheets, headers, and structural parts Perform TIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding to specification Use leveling and alignment tools to ensure proper fit and orientation Read and follow blueprints, weld procedures, and shop drawings Perform carbon arc gouging and thermal cutting as needed Inspect work to ensure compliance with ASME code and quality standards Work with ferrous and non-ferrous materials Maintain clean and safe work environment Assist with additional shop duties as needed Class A Fitter Welder (ASME Pressure Vessel / Boiler Fabrication) Additional Qualifications Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) experience is a plus Experience with pressure vessels, boilers, or heavy industrial fabrication preferred Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work overtime and meet production deadlines Team-oriented with strong communication skills #MED TRINITY EMPLOYMENT SPECIALISTS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER See the great things people are saying by checking out our Google reviews, along with our Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter. Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, following blueprints. Work involves use of hand and power tools, plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs, or turnbuckles. Assist in testing assembled vessels. Direct cleaning of boilers and boiler furnaces. Inspect and repair boiler fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines. * Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frame and plate sections or other parts into place. * Study blueprints to determine locations, relationships, or dimensions of parts. * Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts, such as safety valves or regulators, using torches, jacks, caulking hammers, power saws, threading dies, welding equipment, or metalworking machinery. * Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on boiler foundations, following blueprints and using straightedges, squares, transits, or measuring instruments. * Bolt or arc weld pressure vessel structures and parts together, using wrenches or welding equipment. * Position, align, and secure structural parts or related assemblies to boiler frames, tanks, or vats of pressure vessels, following blueprints. * Shape or fabricate parts, such as stacks, uptakes, or chutes, to adapt pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or piping to premises, using heavy-metalworking machines such as brakes, rolls, or drill presses. * Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, or feedwater connections in drums of water tube boilers, using hand tools. * Assemble large vessels in an on-site fabrication shop prior to installation to ensure proper fit. * Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal and locate and mark bending and cutting lines, using protractors, compasses, and drawing instruments or templates. * Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects, such as leaks, weak spots, or defective sections, so that they can be repaired. * Shape seams, joints, or irregular edges of pressure vessel sections or structural parts to attain specified fit of parts, using cutting torches, hammers, files, or metalworking machines. * Inspect assembled vessels or individual components, such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, or auxiliary mechanisms, to locate any defects. * Straighten or reshape bent pressure vessel plates or structure parts, using hammers, jacks, or torches. * Install refractory bricks or other heat-resistant materials in fireboxes of pressure vessels. * Clean pressure vessel equipment, using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents. * Bell, bead with power hammers, or weld pressure vessel tube ends to ensure leakproof joints.
