Senior Legal Counsel Benefits & Compensation Competitive base salary with a discretionary annual bonus Remote/hybrid flexibility with approximately quarterly travel to Indianapolis Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Generous paid time off and holidays Collaborative, inclusive culture with opportunities for professional growth and mentorship Senior Legal Counsel Requirements & Qualifications 10+ years of corporate transactional commercial real estate legal experience Current or prior in-house legal experience with an enclosed mall owner, operator, or developer is required Direct experience supporting complex retail real estate matters for an enclosed mall platform Significant experience with shopping center leasing and complex retail real estate transactions Demonstrated experience across the real estate lifecycle, including development, leasing, and property dispositions Strong background drafting and negotiating complex agreements, including reciprocal easement agreements (REAs), shopping center leases, development agreements, operating agreements, and disposition documents Experience advising internal business and development teams on sophisticated commercial real estate matters Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal counsel to internal stakeholders Senior Legal Counsel Preferred Background & Skills Experience with large-scale enclosed mall redevelopment and mixed-use transformation projects Experience advising on legal and commercial risk across a significant retail real estate portfolio Experience working with anchor tenants and other major retail users Previous mentorship or leadership of junior attorneys and legal staff Senior Legal Counsel Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead and negotiate complex commercial real estate transactions involving enclosed malls and major retail properties Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated shopping center leases, REAs, development agreements, operating agreements, and property disposition documents Support retail development, redevelopment, leasing, and related commercial real estate transactions Support major redevelopment and mixed-use transformation projects from inception through completion Advise business and development leaders on legal and commercial risks and develop practical solutions to complex issues Collaborate with internal legal and business teams, outside counsel, tenants, developers, and other stakeholders on major transactions Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced attorneys and paralegals Ready to bring your in-house enclosed mall legal experience to one of the country's leading commercial real estate platforms?
