Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.**Job Summary & Responsibilities****Position Summary:** The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting key areas of the general ledger, month-end and quarter-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal control compliance. This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data while partnering cross-functionally with finance, operations, and business teams to support timely reporting and process improvements.## Key Responsibilities* Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end and quarter-end close.* Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances, unusual transactions, and reconciling items.* Support the preparation of financial statements, management reporting packages, and other internal reporting deliverables.* Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.* Assist with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, transfers, disposals, depreciation, and subledger reconciliations.* Record, reconcile, and resolve intercompany transactions across multiple entities, as applicable.* Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations.* Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX requirements, where applicable.* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, close timelines, documentation, and reporting accuracy.* Partner with FP&A, operations, tax, treasury, and other teams to support business needs and accounting conclusions.* Assist with special projects, system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and ad hoc analysis.**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.* 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.* Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.* Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms.* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.* Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support.* CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred, but not required.## Required Skills and Competencies* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.* High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.* Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to streamline processes.## Preferred Experience* Experience in a publicly traded company or SOX-controlled environment.* Exposure to multi-entity or global accounting processes.* Experience with fixed assets, intercompany accounting, accruals, prepaids, or other corporate accounting areas.* Experience using account reconciliation tools or close management systems.Why Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
