Senior Manager, Finance & Strategy, New Verticals - DashMart

Overview We're looking for a strategic finance leader to help us accelerate our DashMart efforts. About the Team The Finance & Strategy team accelerates the growth of our business by identifying and implementing new opportunities and solutions. We partner with teams across the company to improve the profitability, scalability, and defensibility of our business model. We’re looking for people who can use strategy to identify areas of opportunity and collaborate to help carry projects from conception through execution. About the Role You will serve as the finance lead for our DashMart business, DoorDash’s next billion‑dollar business. The DashMart team is building a store custom built for e‑commerce to offer groceries, household essentials, and local favorites to our customers with unmatched quality. Expansion into new categories is central to our growth strategy, creating entirely new use cases for customers and expanding our brand beyond restaurant delivery. You will join as a senior leader on a lean but high‑horsepower team, responsible for growing and cementing DashMart as one of the next pillars of our marketplace business, while simultaneously developing the team around you. The person in this role will operate much like the CFO of a smaller start‑up, owning a diverse set of finance responsibilities without clear boundaries, and helping build the foundation of these businesses from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Work with GMs and product leaders to size opportunities and make strategic decisions and investments. Oversee financial reporting and forecasting, and ensure a clear and detailed understanding of the drivers of growth, margin expansion and competitive positioning. Hold cross‑functional partners accountable to their financial plan and outcomes, and work with them to get things back on track if they miss. Mentor and develop new and existing talent to help them achieve their professional goals and scale our team as we continue to grow. Advise the executive team on ways to invest resources more efficiently, to move faster and do more. Build models and develop analytical frameworks to evaluate new partnership opportunities, understand ROI/payback of various initiatives, and forecast demand more accurately. Ensure necessary processes, systems and tools are in place to streamline operations and help us scale as quickly as possible. Qualities & Experience We Expect 9+ years of strategic finance, operational finance, FP&A, or investment banking experience at a high‑growth technology startup or well‑established company. 3+ years of team management experience, passionate about building and developing a team. Experience owning budgets for major functional areas and working with operators on day‑to‑day execution to hit targets. Thrives in high‑performance cultures, handles stress well, and is willing to work long hours for meaningful work. Embraces ambiguity; can find direction and craft a plan of action when none is given. Leads by example and indirect influence, navigating a rapidly growing organization, building consensus with key stakeholders, and motivating a geographically dispersed team. Relentless determination; keeps working on problems as new challenges emerge, adjusting plans or strategies as needed. Proven ability to earn the trust of senior leaders and influence strategic decisions. Strong financial modeling skills; builds highly complex models and presents digestible outputs and analyses. Comfortable operating at both high‑level strategy and detailed execution. Interest in logistics, on‑demand services, marketplaces, and grocery is a plus. Compensation The starting pay will fall within the national USD range of $163,200–$240,000 , and may be adjusted based on market and location. Equity grant opportunities are also available.
