About this job: Teaches specific grade level subject matter to diverse high school student population following District standards-based curriculum. Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding. Salaries for the 2026-2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. What You'll Do: * Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement. * Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy. * Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. * Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines. * Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles. * Instructs students individually and in groups using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions). * Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. * Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software. * Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators. * Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems. * May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers' Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations. What You'll Need: * Hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required. * A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions. * Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
