We are seeking an exceptional Bar Manager to lead the beverage program of a highly regarded, Japanese-inspired restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

This is an opportunity for a sophisticated beverage leader who combines craft, hospitality, creativity, and strong business acumen . The concept blends Japanese izakaya-inspired cuisine with a creative beverage program featuring cocktails, sake, shochu, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful culinary influences.

The Role

The Bar Manager will oversee the daily beverage operation while leading a talented team and maintaining a high standard of service, quality, and hospitality.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, coach, and develop the bar team
• Oversee cocktails, beverage execution, and service standards
• Manage inventory, ordering, beverage cost, and waste
• Support cocktail and beverage menu development
• Train staff on spirits, cocktails, sake, shochu, and hospitality
• Partner closely with culinary and restaurant leadership
• Manage scheduling, labor, prep, and daily bar operations
• Support private events, large parties, and high-volume service
• Build strong vendor relationships and identify opportunities to improve profitability

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Bar Manager, Beverage Manager, Assistant Beverage Director, or comparable leadership experience
• Strong cocktail and spirits knowledge
• Proven team leadership and training experience
• Strong understanding of beverage cost, inventory, and purchasing
• Upscale, chef-driven, craft cocktail, or beverage-focused restaurant experience
• Experience with high-volume service and/or private events
• Excellent communication, organization, and hospitality skills
• Hands-on leadership style with high standards

Japanese restaurant or izakaya experience is a strong plus, but not required. We will consider exceptional beverage leaders from sophisticated cocktail bars, fine dining restaurants, hotels, and Asian-inspired concepts.
