Engineer 1/2/Sr - Distribution

This is a multi-level posting, and will be filled at the level that best aligns with directly related experience and education. The engineer-distribution provides engineering services for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of MidAmerican's distribution system. Responsibilities include applying prescribed methods and standard practices in performing specific tasks within projects and assisting other engineering staff on more complex projects. Project assignments may include planning, designing, materials procurement, project management and project accounting (budgeting, estimating, forecasting). Position also assists with engineering studies and investigations and in preparation of oral and written reports. If no PE license, then must have 8 or more years as a practicing engineer for the Sr Engineer positionEffective verbal and written communication skills. (20%) Provide engineering assistance to other departments and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%) Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques. Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the electric transmission and distribution system.
