Duties : Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Transmission Rates Unit, the incumbent performs the more complex and difficult electrical engineering work relating to technical and economic evaluation of transmission and interconnection service requirements, and transmission rate design for the reliable and cost-effective operation of the State Water Project (SWP).

Must be available to work outside normal business hours, including overnight travel. Travel throughout the state of California will be required. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

It is desirable that the incumbent have experience or knowledge in the Electrical Engineering or power related field, including FERC regulations, transmission rates, and utility cost-of-service principles. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in CAISO and regulatory processes such as full network modeling and energy market operations. Experience in transmission studies and interconnection work, including the use of tools like PSLF and participation in affected system studies, is essential. Familiarity with the State Water Project and its operational framework is strongly preferred. Strong project management abilities and the capacity to lead or support complex technical initiatives is preferred.
