Work Environment

This position will be located onsite at our facility, which offers state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and a collaborative work environment. Our hospital-based setting allows for seamless integration with medical professionals across disciplines, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared goals focused on exceptional patient care. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Guide patients through specific therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities, utilizing modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques, ensuring they understand their home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery efforts.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities, which aids in adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Prepare treatment areas prior to sessions, ensuring that all equipment is organized and available for effective therapy delivery.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate holistic patient care strategies that optimize treatment outcomes.
• Provide encouragement and psychological support to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering an empathetic and motivational atmosphere.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and prioritizing patient rights and privacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will involve working with a diverse clientele, including athletes recovering from sports injuries, elderly patients requiring geriatric rehabilitation, children needing pediatric therapy, and individuals recovering from surgeries. Each patient presents unique challenges and opportunities for tailored interventions, allowing you to utilize a wide range of therapeutic skills.

Qualifications

• A completed Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of physical therapy.
• Experience in administering therapeutic exercises and modalities, demonstrating proficiency under supervision.
• Exceptional communication skills with a dedication to building rapport with patients to enhance treatment engagement and cooperation.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach focused on fostering recovery and promoting well-being.
• Ability to adapt treatment strategies for various patient populations, demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness in your techniques.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a hospital or rehabilitation clinic setting is preferred.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices.

Compensation and Benefits
