Senior Cost Accountant

Senior Cost Accountant Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite, with relocation) For almost half a century, our client has produced a diverse portfolio of foods and beverages that are popular with consumers around the world. The Senior Cost Accountant will analyze product, material, labor and manufacturing cost changes; compare standard versus actual costs; and report cost impacts to leadership. Additionally, the role manages budgets, reviews weekly KPIs and variances, recommends cost‑process improvements, and maintains ERP item codes. Compensation & Benefits: $100-115k base salary plus annual bonus potential Medical, Dental, Vision Life, LTD, STD 401(k) PTO & holiday pay Relocation assistance Key Responsibilities and Goals: Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, determining effects on costs. Maintain and review weekly KPIs with leadership, explaining and analyzing variances. Manage budgeting and standards review. Monitor material and labor costs, identify information requirements and recommend improvements. Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Create and maintain internal item code system for ERP software. Competencies Needed for Success: 4‑year Accounting/Business/Finance degree. 5+ years relevant experience in food manufacturing. Demonstrated ability to define quantitative/qualitative problems, collect data, interpret results, and draw valid conclusions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong experience with ERP systems.
