At our facility, we guide adolescents and their families toward complete recovery, equipping each young person with the tools to face life's challenges without the burden of an eating disorder. We emphasize empathy, education, and family involvement as essential components of the recovery journey, helping each adolescent cultivate healthy skills and a profound understanding of their unique identity.

Position Overview

The Nurse plays a crucial role in evaluating, monitoring, planning, administering, and directly delivering patient care services. It is essential to maintain an active nursing license in the state of practice. This role involves creating nursing assessment plans and overseeing both medical and psychiatric care in collaboration with attending providers. As a member of the Treatment Team, the Nurse contributes to the development of the Master Treatment Plan and operates under the guidelines of state licensure, adhering to both state and federal regulations.

We are looking for a Nurse to become part of our dedicated team.

This is a Per Diem position with available Day and Night shifts.

Compensation: LPN: $26-$35 per hour; RN: $35-$45 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

1. Initiate the admission process by obtaining provider orders upon patient arrival and completing the initial nursing assessment within 24 hours, including assistance with medical intake.
2. Monitor vital signs, including orthostatic vitals and blind weights as directed by the provider; conduct patient assessments and document findings in detailed nursing notes.
3. Track and document patient progress or setbacks in line with established policies and procedures.
4. Assist providers in facilitating weekly patient consultations.
5. Provide education and support to help patients develop skills for safe self-administration of medications post-discharge.
6. Ensure accurate placement of medications in the designated medication box and update the medication administration record (MAR) accordingly.
7. Assist patients in obtaining medications from the pharmacy, including facilitating initial medication orders.
8. Coordinate and facilitate the collection of laboratory specimens as ordered, ensuring timely receipt of results and communicating findings to the medical team for appropriate follow-up.

Additional Duties:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of medication actions, side effects, and contraindications, and research unfamiliar medications prior to administration to ensure safe care.
2. Collect and record data in a comprehensive, accurate, and systematic manner.
3. Maintain updated patient records in the electronic system.
4. Support a therapeutic environment by monitoring patient behaviors and collaborating with the treatment team to reinforce structure, safety, and consistency.
5. Communicate relevant information from patients or families to the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care planning and treatment continuity.
6. Coordinate with the Primary Therapist on any necessary insurance review information.
7. Work collaboratively with medical and psychiatric teams to provide integrated nursing care that aligns with eating disorder treatment goals.
8. Participate in discharge planning with the medical and psychiatric teams to ensure continuity of care and safe transition from treatment.
9. Attend monthly nurse-led meetings and other team meetings as needed to support effective communication and collaboration.
10. Provide health education to patients through individual or group sessions when appropriate, documenting sessions clearly and accurately.
11. Assist patients in coordinating their outpatient appointments as necessary.
12. Support the informed consent process by helping patients understand procedures and treatments under the provider's direction.
13. Deliver clinical nursing care in a safe, competent, and professional manner in accordance with established standards and protocols.
14. Adhere to established nursing practice standards and organizational policies.
15. Complete required onboarding and annual training within designated timeframes and attend monthly clinical services training or other scheduled training as per organizational policies.
16. Exhibit professionalism and serve as a positive role model for patients and staff within the therapeutic environment.
17. Promptly report any suspected patient rights violations following established protocols.
18. In case of an emergency or declared state of emergency, it may be necessary to remain on-site as part of the emergency team until the situation is resolved.
19. Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required.
• A minimum of one year of experience is preferred.
• A valid nursing license is required.
• Multistate nursing license is preferred for virtual programs.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
