Help Build the Future of Fiber Connectivity

At Greenlight Networks, we're expanding high-speed fiber internet to more communities, and our success starts with having the right materials in the right place at the right time. We're looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist, located at our headquarters in Rochester, NY, to support our Construction and Field Operations teams by managing purchasing activities, coordinating with suppliers, and helping ensure critical materials are available to keep projects moving forward.

What You'll Do

• As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting construction projects and daily field operations by:
• Creating and processing purchase orders for construction, field operations, and related materials.
• Obtaining vendor quotes and evaluating pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery options.
• Communicating with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve backorders or shortages.
• Monitoring open purchase orders and helping expedite critical materials when needed.
• Supporting inventory planning by tracking stock levels, usage trends, and supplier lead times.
• Partnering closely with Construction, Field Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, and Accounting teams to ensure material needs are met.
• Maintaining accurate purchasing documentation and procurement records.
• Assisting with invoice, receiving, quantity, pricing, and delivery discrepancies.
• Tracking and managing company inventory across warehouses, staging locations, and third-party storage facilities.
• Researching alternative products and suppliers to support business needs.
• Preparing reports related to purchasing activity, material availability, and supplier performance.
• Identifying and escalating potential material shortages, delivery risks, or supplier concerns before they affect operations.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze information, identify potential issues, and take proactive action.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort learning procurement, inventory, and ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Professionalism, accountability, integrity, and a customer-service mindset.

Preferred Experience

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, construction support, or a related role.
• Experience in telecommunications, fiber construction, utilities, field operations, or similar industries is a plus.

Compensation:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly rate for this position is between $29.81 - $38.46. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
