Job Summary

Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is seeking a Critical Care Technician (CCT), with day and night shift availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. Ellison 9 is a patient and family-centered 16-bed adult unit serving critically ill cardiac ICU patients. The most common diagnoses and/or interventions are hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon counter pulsation, ventricular assist devices, CVVH, hypothermia after cardiac arrest, recovery from coronary procedures, including percutaneous aortic and mitral valve replacement, recovery from acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure and/or multiple organ dysfunction/failure. Prefer applicants with more than (1) year clinical patient experience and seeking year-round permanent full-time opportunity. Gap year medical students with patient care experience accepted.

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS]

Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification]

Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician [National Certification]

Experience
Experience working in patient care/elder care 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

- Knowledge of medical terminology.

- Strong patient/customer service skills.

- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

- Proficient in computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
