Position Location : North Carolina, US Proposed Start Date : 08/01/2026 Position Summary The University of North Carolina TEACCH Autism Program has a position for a clinical faculty member. The selected candidate will hold a faculty position as Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (fixed-term faculty) commensurate with experience in the Department of Psychiatry, UNC School of Medicine. Positions are potentially available at any of our locations across North Carolina: Asheville, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh, and Wilmington. Clinical Faculty at TEACCH engage in a combination of clinical, research, and teaching activities. Clinical opportunities include maintaining a diagnostic and treatment caseload of autistic clients across the lifespan consistent with faculty expertise. Teaching opportunities include supervising trainees, providing consultation, and training of other professionals locally, nationally, and internationally. TEACCH faculty engage in community-based research activities with current projects spanning the lifespan and various settings. The blend of clinical, teaching, and research activities will depend on the candidate’s expertise and career interests. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Completion of accredited PhD or PsyD in clinical, school, or other mental health doctoral program. Previous clinical training (at an accredited program, e.g., APA accredited for Psychology) and experience in assessment and treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Must be licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist, LMHC, LCSW, LMFT or related clinical discipline in the state of North Carolina within 30 days of hire. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Prior experience in an academic medical setting and/or in a high-performing clinical team.
