Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float Location Garden City, KS (Float Zone covering up to 60-mile radius) Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Full-Time Hours Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical and Telemetry float pool, covering units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurological disorders, post-surgical recovery, oncology, urology, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine Titrate Heparin drips and manage IV therapy in accordance with facility protocols Operate within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity, collaborating with nurse aides and designated charge nurses Float to assigned facilities within the zone up to 60 miles from the zone's city center, with facility assignments communicated via schedule or Just-In-Time (1–2 hours before shift start) Adhere to weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed Required Qualifications Active RN licensure in the state of Kansas (or compact license eligibility) Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last 3 years Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Ability and willingness to float throughout the full 60-mile zone radius for the duration of the contract Flexibility to accept Just-In-Time facility assignments with 1–2 hours notice prior to shift start Must be available and present in state for the full week of orientation Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting Familiarity with Alaris IV pump systems and EPIC electronic health records Experience floating across varying acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and ICU observation holds Why Join Us Gain diverse clinical experience across multiple specialties and facilities within a structured regional float pool program Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance, providing reasonable planning visibility for travel nursing assignments Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 772502.
