School Psychologist

Job Summary As our School Psychologist, you will thrive in our collaborative, supportive, and gratifying Deafblind Program. You will provide direct psychotherapeutic individual and group counseling, perform diagnostic evaluations for students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind, and offer in‑service training related to clinical issues to program staff. You will also work closely with families of enrolled students, provide case‑management services, design behavior‑management programs, and provide crisis intervention in classrooms or cottages. Your role includes ongoing support and consultation regarding behavioral concerns, arranging psycho‑diagnostic testing, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team that delivers educational, prevocational/vocational, and residential services. Responsibilities Provide direct psychotherapeutic individual and group counseling and perform diagnostic evaluations for students who are blind, visually impaired, or Deafblind. Offer in‑service training related to clinical issues to program staff. Work with families of enrolled students and provide case‑management services. Design and implement individual and group behavior‑management programs for students. Deliver crisis intervention in classrooms or cottages when needed. Provide ongoing support and consultation to program staff on behavioral concerns. Arrange and administer psycho‑diagnostic testing for students on a periodic basis. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary evaluation and program team. Act as liaison between Perkins and other mental‑health professionals who have direct contact with students. Assist with necessary referrals to specialists and provide crisis intervention to students as required. Consult with program staff and families on approved behavior‑management techniques. Serve as a consultant for research related to individuals who are blind, visually impaired, Deafblind, or multiply impaired. Develop or adapt measurement instruments for use with these individuals. Participate in program meetings, case reviews, triennial evaluations, and IEP meetings; prepare reports on student progress and needs. Provide formal and informal in‑service training to staff members. Screen and evaluate individuals referred for placement and help determine admissions and future programming. Contribute professionally to the field through workshops, conference presentations, research, and publication of articles. Supervise field placement and mentor undergraduate and graduate students when requested. Prepare observation and assessment reports, maintain current records on students, and collect statistical data regarding service delivery. Qualifications Master’s Degree in School Psychology from a NASP‑approved program. Massachusetts DESE Certification as a School Psychologist. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a school psychologist. Salary Shared salary range: $55,523.60 – $96,029.42 (experience and qualifications may affect actual pay).
