Tax AccountantThis is an in-office position based in Spartanburg, SC.Position: Tax AccountantDepartment: AccountingExemptPosition Reports to: Sales & Use Tax ManagerOTO Development is pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Tax Accountant.What will you be doing most days?Calculate and file Sales and Use Tax returns for multiple entities in multiple statesTrack and record payment of Property Taxes for multiple properties in multiple statesCalculate and file Occupancy Tax returns for operating hotels under the company's managementCalculate and file other taxes as needed; gross receipts tax, excise tax, business & occupation taxPreparation of business license and various other license renewals for multiple locationsResearch tax issuesInterpret and comply with state and local statutes, regulations, and legislationProvide guidance based on research of tax laws and regulationsPrepare and assist with sales and use tax auditsAssist with the reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accountsWhat are the requirements for this position?A bachelor's degree in Accounting or other four-year degree with equivalent accounting experience.Relevant accounting and sales and/or use tax experienceStrong computer technical skills, including MS ExcelStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and are able to meet important deadlinesExperience with a multi-state, multi-unit environment a plusExperience with Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon) a plusPhysical Requirements for this PositionThis is largely a sedentary role; however, you must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates.Travel RequirementsNoneAbout OTOOTO Development (OTO) is one of the fastest growing hotel management companies in the lodging industry.
