Medical Assistant Extern

Job Description
The extern will shadow the preceptor when performing the below tasks, with permission from the patient:
Administrative Shadowing:
- Assist with patient flow
- Greet and escort patient throughout the facility with patient's permission
- Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, burning CD's, proper disposal of HPI
- Restocking supplies
- Proper handling of medical equipment
Clinical Shadowing:
- Practice Patient/Staff Experience initiatives
- Learn Quality Control documentation
- Taking Vital Signs
- Performing EKGs
- Height and weight measurements
- Performing/observing point or care rapid testing
- Perform Urinalysis, urine culture, pregnancy testing
- Infection Control
