Just Smokin' Barbecue is a locally owned, award-winning BBQ restaurant looking for a dependable, hardworking Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our team.

We're looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in putting out consistent food, and understands that there's always something to do. Punctuality, reliability, cleanliness, and attention to detail are extremely important.

You'll work the restaurant line, prepare food, complete prep, stock and clean your station, assist with deliveries, and help wherever needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly. When business slows down, we use that time to clean, stock, prep, organize, and get ready for the next rush.

Pay & Benefits

• $15–$20+ per hour depending on experience, PLUS tip share

What You'll Do

• Prepare and assemble menu items accurately and efficiently
• Work the line during lunch and dinner service
• Operate fryers, grills, ovens, steam tables, slicers, and other kitchen equipment
• Portion, cut, chop, shred, and package cooked meats
• Prepare sides, sauces, and other menu items
• Complete daily prep lists and follow house recipes
• Stock and maintain a clean, organized workstation
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper holding temperatures
• Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries
• Complete opening, closing, dishes, and general cleaning duties
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Assist with catering and food truck events when needed

Opportunities to Learn & Grow

Team members interested in taking on more responsibility may have opportunities to learn:

• Meat trimming, seasoning, and grinding
• Brisket, pork, chicken, ribs, turkey, and other BBQ preparation
• Smoker loading, fire management, and pit operations
• Catering and food truck operations
• Leadership and kitchen management

Previous BBQ experience is not required. We're willing to teach someone who is dependable, motivated, and wants to learn.

What We're Looking For

• Dependable, punctual, and hardworking
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to learn multiple positions and help wherever needed
• Able to follow recipes, directions, and daily task lists
• Comfortable working with knives and commercial kitchen equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Able to stand for a full shift and regularly lift 20–50 pounds
• Evening and weekend availability preferred
• Must be at least 16 years old
