Front-of-House Baker (Guest Experience Focused)

No prior baking experience required. This is a hands-on, guest-facing role focused on execution, energy, and teamwork.

IZOLA Bakery is hiring a Front-of-House Baker to lead the flow of croissants and sourdough from our ovens—served hot, throughout the day, directly to our guests.

This role is for someone who enjoys being in the middle of the action—engaging with guests, staying in motion, and helping a team execute at a high level in real time.

You are not working in the back—you are front and center in our dining room, responsible for both the product and the guest experience.

What Makes This Role Different

Our ovens sit at the center of the bakery. You are responsible for keeping product flowing, reading the room, and adjusting in real time.

This is not just following a bake schedule.

You are expected to:

• Hear the team call out that we’re low on something—and jump in to solve it
• Notice when product is building up—and adjust the bake proactively
• Stay aware of both product levels and guest experience at all times
• Step in and support the team without being asked

What You’ll Do

Bake & Flow Management (Primary Responsibility)

• Bake croissants and sourdough continuously throughout the day
• Manage oven timing, flow, and product levels in real time
• Adjust production based on demand, not just a schedule
• Ensure all products meet IZOLA standards for quality and presentation

Guest Experience (Front & Center)

• Engage with guests while working the ovens
• Answer questions, share knowledge, and create a warm, hospitable experience
• Represent IZOLA with energy, professionalism, and care

Prep & Team Support

• Move between bake station and prep tasks as needed (including preparing sauces, condiments, toppings, etc.)
• Additional opportunity for cross training to support prep work for our production departments
• Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth handoffs and coverage
• Jump in wherever needed to support the operation

Cross-Training Opportunity (Secondary)

• Learn and support sourdough and croissant production over time
• Growth into these areas is available, but bake execution and team support come first

Physical Requirements

This is a highly physical role:

• Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, lifting, and movement
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Moving quickly through a multi-level space (including stairs)

Schedule

• Part-time: About 24+ hours per week (full-time also available)
• Flexible availability required: early mornings, weekends
