Russell Tobin
The Science Team at Russell Tobin and Associates is hiring a "Scientist I - Genetic Medicine Technology" for a top leading biotechnology organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and clone expression vectors and IVT plasmids.
- Perform DNA/mRNA transfections in human and mouse cell lines.
- Generate and evaluate IVT mRNA constructs.
- Analyze transgene expression using qRT-PCR, luciferase assays, and Western blot.
- Maintain ELN documentation and prepare summary presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years OR Master’s degree + 2 years in Molecular Biology or related field.
- Strong experience with:
- Gibson Assembly
- Golden Gate cloning
- Site-directed mutagenesis
- In vitro transcription (IVT)
- qRT-PCR and reporter assays
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and transfection.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with primary cells (T cells, monocytes, hepatocytes).
- Knowledge of SnapGene, GraphPad Prism, and MS Office.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Additional Details:
- Location: San Diego, CA (Fully Onsite)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM PT
- Position Type: 6 months contract
- Pay rate approved: $40-45/hr. on W2 depending on experience
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
