Journeyman

Description employment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration. Job Description Civil Journeyman (Alternative Titles: Journeyman) Essential Skills Read a tape measure or ruler. Perform basic craft math. Identify and properly use safety equipment. Identify and properly use hand tools. Identify and properly operate power tools. Operate portable generators. Recognize and identify unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to employee's work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. Use hand signals to guide/direct equipment operators. Identify reinforcing steel. Perform basic rebar tying. Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties. Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction. Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment and materials to specification. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification. Must be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties. Must follow all company and site rules and regulations. Must have required tools. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, and others on project. Knowledge of equipment, materials, and methods used in the industry. Ability to follow standard safety practices and procedures. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Working outside in extreme weather conditions. Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees. Be motivated and work safely and productively. Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
