Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality care to critically ill children in a fast-paced environment.

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October
• Shift Options:
• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
• Schedule: Rotating shift patterns
• Time Off:
• Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
• 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• Time off cannot be approved during the first 2 weeks of the contract
• Approval for up to 40 hours of time off

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, intervening as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Current BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Pediatric cardiac experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid Virginia nursing license or license pending.
