Maimonides Cancer Center Hematology/Oncology Attending FacultyWe are currently recruiting for an open attending faculty position in Hematology/Oncology at the Maimonides Cancer Center. We have particular needs in the areas of hematology (benign and malignant), gynecologic and genitourinary oncology, as well as sarcoma. We currently have an active practice group of 9 full-time faculty, all of whom subspecialize in 2-3 disease sites. Call and consult weeks are shared among all of the faculty. Our Cancer Center comprises a 30-chair infusion unit, pediatric oncology and state-of-the-art radiation oncology all at the same location. Our fellowship program, consisting of 3 fellows per year, provides ample opportunities for teaching, and we have an experienced research team available for clinical trials support. We have multidisciplinary tumor boards in all areas of oncology with participation of surgeons, pathologists and radiologists.ResponsibilitiesLeads Malignant and Benign Hematology multidisciplinary conferences.Oversees the development and implementation of clinical protocols for optimal treatment of benign and malignant hematologic conditions.Participates in monthly K6 meetings to address clinical and operational challenges of inpatient hematologic care and promote effective transitions between in-patient and outpatient care.Assesses and monitors new diagnostic and therapeutic options available for Hematology patients and make recommendations on their adoption and implementation within the division.Provides clinical leadership for the Benign Hematology Advanced Practice Provider Program to ensure clinical quality and patient satisfaction. Identifies areas for program growth and promotes community awareness of the services.Works with the Chief of the Division and the Fellowship Program Director to establish and maintain high quality Hematology education for residents and fellows.Identifies and supports clinical trial and research priorities in Hematology for the DivisionQualificationsValid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New YorkValid license to prescribe controlled substances.ACLS/BCLS CertificationValid DEA CertificationDemonstrated experience in area of specialty as set forth in credentialing requirements for that specialty.Excellent English written and verbal communication skillsPay Range USD $450,000.00 - USD $650,000.00 /Yr.Maimonides Medical Center (MMC) is an equal opportunity employer.
