Controller

A rapidly growing, privately held company in the energy management space is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to join its leadership team. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys building processes, leading teams, and partnering with executives to drive business performance. What You’ll Do Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close Prepare and analyze accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, audits, tax filings, and internal controls Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights and support key decisions Improve and scale accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Manage and mentor a small, high-performing accounting team Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Optimize financial systems and reporting tools, including SQL-based data analysis Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and IT Contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements What We’re Looking For 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 4+ years in leadership Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or Master’s preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and internal controls Proven experience leading accounting operations and financial reporting Experience with financial systems and SQL-based tools (e.g., NetSuite, Great Plains, Zoho, MS Access) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities Experience in a high-growth or energy/technology environment is a plus What's in It for You High visibility with executive leadership Opportunity to build and improve scalable processes Fast-growing, dynamic business environment Ability to make a meaningful impact on company strategy and performance #J-18808-Ljbffr Specialized Recruiting Group - Livonia
