Our differentiated battle management and cyber solutions deliver timely, mission-enabling information and provide superior situational awareness and understanding to protect the U.S. and its global allies.The Electronics Assembler uses electronic components, mechanical parts, drawings and engineering documentation, tools, and manufacturing processes to build and/or repair units such as circuit card assemblies, cable assemblies and wire harnesses, modules, and cabinet assemblies.2nd Shift Hours – 3pm – 12:30amWhat You'll Get to Do:Obtain all necessary information to perform job assignments and report any discrepancies to appropriate personnelPlan, lay out, assemble, wire and solder electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and apparatus such as PC boards, controls and control panels, assemblies, converters, inverters, and small output stationsRead and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to perform point-to-point assembly, where assemblies and subassemblies require wiring and soldering of large masses of wires in confined spacesFollowing appropriate wiring diagram, perform wiring using harness boards, tie-in cables and harnesses; install mechanical parts, components and fasteners as specifiedPerform electrical/electronic and mechanical assembly tasks working as a member of an assembly team as assignedLay out and construct harness boards to assemble and form wiring and cables for a wide variety of electrical/electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassembliesMix and apply bonding components and encapsulatesPerform product finishing functions as required; obtain and maintain proper certifications, such as Conformal Coating Printed Wiring Assembly (PWA), Paints/Epoxies, etc.Use and operate a broad range of hand tools, assembly equipment and safety equipment to perform tasksUnderstand the function of and use a broad range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts and components such as brackets, solder, wire, resistors, diodes, capacitors, relays, transformers, coils, switches, PC boards, epoxies, etc.Work closely with other personnel and attend company sponsored training courses to obtain knowledge and skills for career developmentMaintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly conditionBasic QualificationsHigh School graduate or recognized equivalent (GED) with 2 years of mechanical assembly and repair and/or Circuit Card assembly and repair experienceExperience utilizing a broad range of hand tools, assembly equipment and safety equipment to perform tasksExperience using a microscope to perform assembly and repair of Printed circuit boardsMust be capable of successfully completing basic solder certification, visual acuity test and in-house skills trainingAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security ClearanceU.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred QualificationsActive/Current U.S. Government Secret Security ClearanceAA DegreeSAP or other ERP/MRP System experienceExceptional mechanical/electrical aptitudeNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
