Must-Have: Board Certification in Geriatrics preferred; experience or added qualifications in geriatrics preferred; effective skills in physical assessment and chronic disease management for frail older adults; desire to work in a creative alternate health care setting; ability to manage changing priorities according to participant needs


Description:
The Medical Director provides general medical direction and supervision of participant care.
They are responsible for the delivery of participant care, clinical outcomes, and oversight of the quality assurance performance improvement program.
The Medical Director develops and maintains medical policies and procedures, standards, and protocols.
They provide direction and supervision to primary care providers and advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities include conducting history and physical exams on new participants and conducting event-based and periodic reassessments.
The Medical Director develops medical treatment plans and provides medically necessary services in various locations where participants may reside.
They interview and evaluate applicants to the organization and their caregivers, participating in intake and assessment decisions.
The Medical Director discusses participants' medical conditions and prognoses with them and their caregivers to assist in expressing their wishes and planning future care.
They execute assignments in a collaborative culture across divisions.
The Medical Director collaborates in the nursing treatment program of participants and establishes or maintains plans to achieve operating goals as a member of the leadership team.
Participation as an active member of the interdisciplinary team is required, educating and advising the team regarding diagnoses, cognitive and physical functions, and treatment options.
The Medical Director participates in team and family conferences and decision-making processes.
They educate participants and families regarding health maintenance and chronic medical conditions.
Supervision of the health care and treatment program as developed by the interdisciplinary team is required.
The Medical Director performs physical examinations, orders and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests, and records results systematically.
Participation in a provider on-call rotation is required.
