Job Description

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst serves as a key member of the financial planning and analysis team, providing insightful analysis and reporting to drive performance and support the achievement of business objectives. This role coordinates major planning processes, leads FP&A activities, partners closely with business and operations teams, and enhances financial systems and reporting to enable sound, data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the annual budget process (MOP) for the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial planning.
• Lead the FP&A team in preparing budgets, financial reports, and regular performance reporting.
• Support the annual strategic planning process by providing robust financial analysis and scenario evaluation.
• Lead projects and initiatives focused on improving efficiency and quality in financial reporting and analysis.
• Drive monthly internal financial reporting, including analysis and explanation of trends, projections, and variances versus plan, forecast, and prior year.
• Partner with business and operations teams to understand financial and operational data, enabling sound business decisions by product line and for the overall business.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain financial and operational reports in line with established reporting standards to meet internal and external requirements.
• Recommend and implement changes in financial systems and processes to ensure FP&A tools and systems are maintained, functioning effectively, and meeting daily business needs.
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and training to FP&A Analysts to support their development and performance.
• Respond quickly to ad hoc data requests from business leadership with proactive analysis and support for critical business initiatives.
• Continuously improve the usefulness, clarity, and presentation of monthly and quarterly financial and operating reporting packages.
• Collaborate with business leaders and the finance team to support month-end close activities and ensure accurate financial results.
• Serve as functional lead or project manager for financial system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring successful execution and adoption.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in public accounting or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in project management and/or financial management, including managing budgets, preparing estimates at completion, and performing variance analysis.
• Demonstrated process improvement experience in financial or operational contexts.
• B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, or Business Administration.
• Strong financial analysis and forecasting capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear insights.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial platforms, with specific exposure to SAP and IFRS-based reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and work effectively within a team environment, fostering collaboration and alignment.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and executing initiatives as a functional lead or project manager.
• Advanced analytical, planning, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-starter mindset with a strong sense of urgency and action orientation.
• Ability to propose alternative solutions to both simple and complex business problems and opportunities.
• Creative and innovative approach to resolving complex problems and issues.
• Strong technical aptitude and comfort working with financial systems and data.

• Strong systems and data management skills, including the ability to structure, manage, and interpret large data sets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Green Belt certification is a plus and reflects a strong foundation in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with financial system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to improve the usefulness and presentation of financial and operating reporting packages.
• Experience working closely with business and operations teams to support decision-making is advantageous.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments and related cost structures is beneficial.
• Strong interest in developing others through mentoring and training is valued.
• Ability to excel in an interim role with the potential to be considered for a direct, long-term opportunity based on performance.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site in a modern, newly constructed office facility . The environment is professional and collaborative, with regular interaction between finance, business, and operations teams. Work is performed using ERP systems, SAP, IFRS-based reporting tools, and standard office technologies such as Microsoft Office and Workday. The position involves typical office hours, with additional effort at peak periods such as month-end close and budget cycles. The dress code aligns with a standard professional office setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Avon, OH.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $66.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
