Construction Grade Foreman - Hampton Roads

Job Title Construction Grade Foreman - Hampton Roads Department Construction / Grading Reports to Project Superintendent Major Role and Purpose To ensure the overall success of any job or project assigned through efficient management of time, personnel, and cost. Organize and lead a crew to perform grading activities safely and efficiently. Description of Duties Coordinate construction work according to plans. Assign and supervise daily activities of construction personnel. Coordinate and schedule trucks and equipment to job site. Ensure labor and other resources are adequate. Supervise and train workers. Prepare and maintain required reports. Assist the Project Superintendent with daily records, events, and conditions. Plan, assign and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems. Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance on equipment. Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures. Prepare assessment of any damages and arrange for necessary preparations. Review, verify and submit timecards to payroll. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Education High School Diploma / GED. Work Experience / Qualifications Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in highway and road construction and asphalt paving. Proven experience as a construction foreman. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Valid driver's license with a positive driving record. Ability to access military bases. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Physical Demands Job requires the following motions: driving, standing, sitting, squatting, reaching, pulling/pushing, and lifting. Required to drive.
