Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery to provide comprehensive maternity care, ensuring the safety and comfort of both mother and newborn during all stages of labor, delivery, and postpartum. The role requires alignment with established protocols and collaboration with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, utilizing clinical skills and assessment.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, facilitate cesarean sections, and manage recovery procedures, including postpartum care.
• Monitor fetal well-being using external fetal monitors and intrauterine pressure catheters, ensuring timely intervention when necessary.
• Perform clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, fundus and lochia assessment, and management of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension.
• Document patient care accurately in Epic or non-Epic charting systems, adhering to unit standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including OB providers and neonatology, to deliver family-centered maternity services.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active New York RN license with at least 1 year of recent obstetric experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with fetal monitoring, including EFM and NST interpretation, and assist with cervical evaluations.
• Certify in BLS, OB-ACLS or ACLS, NRP, and EFM, with a willingness to obtain or maintain required credentials.
• Possess strong clinical skills in labor management, postpartum care, and neonatal interventions.
• Capable of floating within skillsets and adaptable to unit protocols.
