POSITION: Dental Hygienist

SCHEDULE: 8-hour shift on Thursdays

FACILITY: Central NM Correctional Facility

LOCATION: Los Lunas, NM

Position Summary
As a Dental Hygienist at our facility, you'll do more than clean teeth-you'll help restore dignity and promote overall health through expert dental care. Working under the supervision of a licensed Dentist, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing oral prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments
• Assisting with dental x-rays, exams, and documentation
• Educating patients on oral hygiene and preventive care
• Screening for dental emergencies and supporting sick call
• Maintaining instruments, ordering supplies, and ensuring clinic cleanliness
• Packaging and sterilizing equipment according to protocol
• Assisting with patient intake, charting, and clinic reporting
• Contributing to in-service training and hygiene education programs
• Ensuring continuity of care in a secure and respectful environment

What You'll Need

• Active license as a Dental Hygeniest in state of practice
• Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene
• Active CPR certification.
• 0-2 years of dental experience (correctional healthcare experience preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach
