Marketing Data Analyst

*Position Overview*
We are seeking a highly analytical and business-minded professional to join our Marketing Analytics team. This role sits within the business organization rather than IT and focuses on transforming data into actionable business insights. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who can work through ambiguous business questions, identify the right data sources, conduct meaningful analysis, and provide recommendations that influence strategic decisions.
This position requires a blend of business acumen, analytical thinking, and business intelligence expertise. The successful candidate will be comfortable partnering with business leaders, collaborating with IT teams, and leveraging data to drive improvements across marketing, sales, customer experience, and operational initiatives. A curiosity for AI and emerging technologies, along with a passion for continuous learning, is highly valued.


*Key Responsibilities*
*Business Analysis & Problem Solving*

* Analyze customer, marketing, sales, and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and business risks.
* Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions.
* Develop hypotheses, ask insightful questions, and uncover root causes behind business performance.
* Transform complex data into actionable recommendations for leadership.
* Evaluate program effectiveness and measure the impact of marketing and business initiatives.
* Support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights and quantitative analysis.
*Business Intelligence & Data Visualization*

* Design, build, and maintain executive dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau and/or Power BI.
* Create clear and compelling visualizations that communicate key business insights.
* Define, monitor, and report on critical business KPIs and performance metrics.
* Promote a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization.
* Deliver reporting solutions that help leaders quickly understand performance drivers and business opportunities.
*Data Management & Analytics*

* Extract, manipulate, cleanse, and analyze data using SQL and related technologies.
* Work with IT and data teams to ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity.
* Utilize tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Python, Teradata, or similar technologies to support analysis and reporting.
* Validate data, identify anomalies, and ensure reporting consistency.
* Support ongoing reporting and ad hoc analytical requests.
*Innovation & Continuous Improvement*

* Explore opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
* Research and evaluate new analytical methods, tools, and best practices.
* Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and business value.
* Stay current on trends in analytics, business intelligence, data visualization, and AI.


*Required Qualifications*

* 3-5 years of experience building and developing dashboards in Tableau, with Power BI experience strongly preferred.
* 3+ years of experience working with data using SQL, Python, Snowflake, or similar data manipulation and analytics tools.
* 3-5 years of experience analyzing data to solve business problems and provide recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
* Proven ability to work independently, ask the right questions, and navigate ambiguous business challenges.

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
