Job Details: Job Location: FABCORP - HOUSTON, TX 77040, Position Type: Full Time, Job Category: Manufacturing, Job Title: Press Brake Helper Reports to: Engineering Technician Job Type: Hourly non-exempt SUMMARY We are a metal fabrication shop seeking a reliable Press Brake Helper to support our production team. You will assist press brake operators in bending and forming metal of all thicknesses (light to heavy gauge) while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized work environment. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Assist the press brake operator with setup, material handling, and bending operations. Load, unload, and position metal sheets and plates of varying thicknesses and sizes. Measure, mark, and prepare materials according to job specifications and blueprints. Help move finished parts and raw materials using forklifts, carts, or overhead cranes as needed. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and machine guards. Perform basic quality checks and report any issues to the operator or supervisor. Support other shop tasks as assigned to keep production flowing Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas. Follow company safety & security guidelines Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job. Other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Ability to lift and move heavy materials (regularly up to 50+ lbs). Willingness to learn press brake operations and shop practices. Basic understanding of measuring tools (tape measure, square, calipers) is a plus. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-first mindset. Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred but not required — we will train the right person DESIRED ADDITIONAL TRAINING (to be provided, if necessary) On the job training to be provided, as needed, for all assigned responsibilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting up to 30 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction. The employee is frequently required to sit while performing the duties of this job (approx. 70%) walk (30%) stand (0%). The employee is expected to lift or move materials (5% of workday). MENTAL DEMANDS Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; reading and interpreting information; judging distances and accurately; following oral and/or written directions; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
