Production Supervisor

Production SupervisorDirects and leads shift manufacturing activities and related departments through supervision of hourly production employees and production schedules. This position is also responsible for contributing to a safe workplace and minimizing negative impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.Supervises and leads all personnel and operations on the shift (multiple functions). Manage production levels to meet customer demands and achieve proper levels as needed. Communicates with outgoing and incoming Supervisor to review production requirements, machine problems, etc. to ensure smooth transition between shifts. Produces weekly output reports which are updated daily and maintain production logs, Chart changeover progress, Collects any necessary data to track production and ensures that production is running efficiently. Dotted line supervision of quality control and maintenance personnel. Provides input in developing work instructions and manages training needs and training plans. Daily time-keeping entries. Champions work-in-process levels. Schedules production employees to specific machines/duties in order to meet scheduled production requirements. Ensures that established policy, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed and actively participates in the interviewing process of hourly employees. Meets with management to report out on status of production levels, quality, scrap and improvement plans. Articulates the vision clearly, develops clear strategies that are actionable and fosters team engagement. Bachelor's Degree preferredExperience: Work requires ability to delegate assignments, supervise, train, and coach employees in order to meet production needs and deadlines. Good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, are necessary to supervise employees in a fair and consistent manner. Competency in Statistical Process Control (SPC)Physical and Mental Demands: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. On a continuous basis must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to make occasional trips to manufacturing sites and customers by air and by automobile. Duration from one to four days. Able to be on call 24/7 for customer and manufacturing sites. Able and willing to work around fuel mixtures, moving parts, and electrical power.
