RN Circulator - Peri-Operative Nursing

The RN Circulator is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services while indirectly reporting to the House Supervisor. This role is responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through comprehensive nursing processes, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients across various age groups ranging from neonates to older adults. The RN coordinates patient care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, directs and guides OR Technicians and other personnel, and ensures adherence to professional nursing standards. Collaboration with other departments is essential to provide a continuum of care, enhance patient flow, and maintain unit organization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative environment.
• Coordinate patient care with surgical and anesthesiology teams.
• Direct and guide OR Technicians and support staff to maintain quality patient care.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

Schedule

This position operates on a schedule from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM, with on-call duties during the evening and weekends as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license required.
• Completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam and Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening is necessary for onboarding.
• Mandatory health screenings, including a drug screening and immunization verification (MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, TB Test).
• Participation in all necessary background checks and verification processes.
