Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position. The Firm has a substantial, but not exclusive, practice in labor and employment law. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for sophisticated litigation work in class actions; commercial disputes and maritime. We also typically have matters that involve interesting issues related to the supply chain; technology and efficient transportation of cargo, as well as a transactional practice related to our outside general counsel role for some clients. We handle a controlled number of substantial cases in the six-figure to $15M+ range and our attorneys enjoy in depth practice on a limited number of matters as opposed to a high-volume caseload. Our cases frequently go to trial and the position is appropriate for an attorney who wishes to develop, or maintain, a substantial trial practice.

We offer an opportunity for extensive client contact and participation in Firm's marketing program. Base salary depends on experience. Qualifications

Experience providing legal advice to clients and conducting legal research
Strong negotiation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with California employment laws and regulations and/or willingness to learn required
Interest in maritime law preferred but not required
Deposition taking skills and interest in same
Substantial CA discovery experience
Local or commute friendly to Long Beach (405 & Lakewood Blvd.)
Membership in the California State Bar is required
On site work required; the Firm also has a strong remote work capability that compliments the on-site requirement
